PSAT/NMSQT National Test Day, October 10

What: The PSAT/NMSQT is a standardized test that emphasizes Math and Language skills. It will be taken with paper and pencil and requires several hours to complete.

Significant Benefits for You:

  • Great practice for taking the SAT. In fact, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT get higher SAT scores, on average, than those who don’t.
  • The PSAT is how you qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program. This is a very prestigious full-ride scholarship program.
  • Lots of other scholarships look at PSAT data to offer you money. See Mrs. Campbell for details.
  • All Liberty Juniors will take the PSAT at no charge.

When: Wednesday, October 10 – check in begins at 7:30 a.m.

Where: Colosseum

Required Pre-administration Session (choose one):

  • Tuesday, September 25, 6:45 a.m. Acropolis
  • Tuesday, September 25, 2:50 p.m. Great Hall
  • Before pre-administration on September 25, students and parents should review information regarding Student Search Service to determine whether you wish to opt in. There are advantages to doing so, but it does share some of your personal information, so be informed and ready to make the right choice for you.

How to Prepare:

  • Lots of online materials and practice tests, including Khan Academy
  • Student Guide with practice test which you received during your American Literature class. Please read the entire guide to make sure you understand the process and what to expect.
